Kovada I HEPP (Hydroelectric Power Plant)

General Information

• Kovada Hydroelectric Power Plants produce power using the water released from the Kovada Lake, an extension of Lake Eğirdir, for flood protection and energy production. Waters released from the Kovada Hydroelectric Power Plants flow into the Isparta Stream, and empty into the Karacaören Dam Lake.

Technical information

• It is located in the Eğirdir district of Isparta province.
• Its operating rights have been granted by BATIENERJİ for the period between December 7th, 2011 and December 7th, 2060.
• It was commissioned in 1960.
• Its installed capacity is 8.25 MW.
• It has been built as three units with each having an installed capacity of 2.75 MW.
• It runs on Francis type vertical axis turbines.
• Its net head is 67.40 meters and its project flow rate is 5.00 m³/h.
• It produces an average of 10,000,000 kWh of electricity annually.
